WWII Veteran
Peacefully in the arms of his loving wife, Thursday, July 26th, 2012 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Maxine. Loving father of Dennis (Janice), Maureen (Dennis Kelly), Lewis Scharf (Debra), Lee-Ann (Randy Harding), Barry Scharf (Lorrie) and Andy Scharf (Evelyn). Cherished "Poppi Pete" to numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Dear brother of Mary (Harry Underhill) of Creston, BC. Pete will be fondly remembered by his sister-in-law and brother- in-law, Twyla and Terry Morrow. The family is overwhelmed by the generosity, compassion, respect and dedication shown by the staff of the Perley & Rideau. A Memorial Service will take place at the Lupton Hall of the Perley & Rideau Veterans' Health Centre, 1750 Russell Road, Ottawa, on Monday, July 30th at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Perley & Rideau Foundation for the Creative Arts Program would be appreciated.

Pete and family were some of our first contacts when Wilma and I married [1959]and moved into Phil's Trailer Park in Cumberland...always there with good advice and helping hands...we kept our respective Kaiser cars on the road and enjoyed interaction with Pete and his family for many years. Please accept our sincere condolences. Wilma and Clayton Tupper.
