We held Nan in the highest esteem. Her ongoing contributions to the community of Otorohanga and her strong and steadfast character made her a well- known and much appreciated woman of our times.

Rae Vicary was a very very dear friend of mine and she introduced Nan to me on numerous occasions. Unfortunately I am in Botany area and can not attend the funeral. I can't say I knew Nan well, but admired her work she did in her community and the love she had of it. Rest in peace Nan.

It´s an end of an era Charlie Owen was a man that I had the greatest respect for. I admired his commitment to athletics and the way he made himself available to just talk. Nan whilst my interactions were limited was a great teacher and was deserving of respect. My sympathies to Jenny and Susan Jane, your parents will be sadly missed and I extend my deepest sympathies
