So sad to hear of the tragic death of my cousin Michael. Last saw you when you headed off to NZ. You will be sadly missed by all who knew you and shared your life & company. It was an absolute privilege to meet you. Thank you for spending the time to have a very long coffee chat with someone who you didn't actually know until we met.

I really cherish the time, advices and knowledge you shared. I will forever be grateful as your shared experience and wisdom over our catch up session has assisted me to this day.

Your eagerness to learn and further educate yourself amazed me -- who would have thought someone in their 70's would return to university from retirement to gain more knowledge of something that you are passionate with. You're a true example of what life-long learning means.

Rest in peace Mike, thank you for your kindness and deepest condolences to your family.

Mike , I have known you for around 35 years . I loved your company and all our intellectual tussles . I even remember playing squash with you at Panmure . I loved your love of wine debate and food . I will miss you deeply . The great thing is I can still hear your distinctive voice in my my head . Love to you and to Mary Steve

To Mike's Family my deepest sympathy and prayers. I was saddened to hear of the traffic accident Mike was involved in.
The Alstom Area Managers from around NZ regularly met with Mike our General Manager at the Auckland HQ building : An enduring couple of memories I have of Mike at that time was his intellectual mathematical and engineering ability and turning up to HQ in his lycra having biked in from home.

Mike always insisted on picking us up at the Auckland Tower bus station after our long flight from San Francisco over the many years Greg and I visited NZ. I am deeply saddened that his family has lost him too soon. Mike is generous and kind and knows how to barbeque his fish. Greg and I have an empty spot in our hearts with his passing. Our most deepest love and prayers are for Mary, Catherine, Alice, son-in-law and grandchildren.

We will remember Mike for his great attitude in physics. We will miss him!

Mike, you left us too soon. Janet and I were so lucky to have known you and your wonderful family. I will never forget meeting you on the "Oatbran" ride across Nevada. When I heard your Kiwi accent, I knew I had made a great friend! Rest in Peace Mike, and may your lovely wife and two wonderful daughters cope with your loss.

Mike, it was both a privilege and a pleasure to have known you & worked alongside you on Project Hobson...your knowledge, experience, & sound judgement were always highly valued.
I will always remember you for your larger than life character...and your ongoing pursuit for knowledge, new skills, and the outdoors will remain an inspiration.
