Michael (Mike):
Passed away peacefully on
15 September 2022 surrounded by his family. Incredible and adored husband of Maree. Treasured and dearly loved father of Saul and partner Lucy. A very special brother and uncle to John and partner Sandra (UK), Irene and husband David and family (Ireland), David and wife Jean and family (UK). Beloved brother-in-law of Ray and partner Maureen (Greece). Much loved son of the late John and Theresa Burningham (UK), and son-in-law of the late Val and Jack Taylor. His courage, humour, and positivity will be remembered and cherished by us all forever. Our heartfelt thanks to our amazing GP, the doctors and staff from Oncology and the Chemo Day Stay Unit, his district and Hospice nurses.

In preference to flowers a donation to the NZ Cancer Society may be made in Mike's memory. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Mike's life to be held at Woodlands Estate, 42 Whitikahu Road, Taupiri, on Thursday 22 September 2022 at 11.00am.

Dear Maree, Saul and family,
We were saddened to hear of Mike's death. We remember him as a friendly gentleman who readily helped out with the Knighton Soccer Club all those years ago.
It was good to catch up with you and Mike on several occasions since then when we bumped into each other in the street.
We send our condolences and best wishes to you all at this sad time. It will be a big adjustment to life without your beloved Mike, but we trust that your precious memories and the love of friends and family will sustain you as you "walk through the valley of shadows".

Our deepest condolences Saul to you and your family on the loss of your loving dad.
I will cherish the memories I have of Michael as a jovial and caring person who always had the concerns and we´ll being of his friends foremost in his mind.

Michaels epic battle is now over and he can rest knowing he´s left the world a better place than it was when he entered it.
