Hi, I am so sad to hear of Melis' passing - he became a dear friend when we rented the flat above his pottery studio. I will neve forget his gentle and kind ways as well as his enormous artistic talent. Much love to the family and to his memory.

May I pass on Dad & my sympathies to the family. Dad- Brian Bayliss, father of Robin, had a special connection to the family, through Robin & Karen's friendship. Mr Van Der Sluis was my art teacher at Maeroa too.
Melis's pottery is still pride of place in Dad's lounge. RIP Melis

To Ruth & family

I was sad to read that Melis has gone. He was such a delightful friend over many years as well as neighbour for 15 years when we lived in Hamilton Parade. Fred always enjoyed their chats , particularly about their homeland. Sadly I have to be out of town on Wednesday so am unablke to pay my respects at the service.

So sad to read of the death of Melis. It was an honour to have worked with him and Ruth in real estate - an amazingly talented man and a true gentleman. My thoughts are with you Ruth and your family at this very sad time.
