Our deepest sympathy goes out to you all at this sad time. Mauri was such a vibrant personality and much loved by all at Marian School.. Only Mauri could have got away with ordering us off site at 5pm, telling us our husbands were waiting for their tea. Not to mention, mowing the banks of the gully with a mower dangling on the end of a rope. We know he was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sorely missed. However, we also know that his legacy will live on through the lives of his loved ones. Mauri you can put your feet up now and rest in the arms of the Lord. Arohanui and God bless.

so sad to hear of the passing of Maurice a dearly loved husband of Gaye and proud father of his six sons. their wives , grandchildren and great grandchildren. . Maurice was a gentleman in all the meaning of the word. Rest in Peace Maurice. Maureen Jamieson.

We had the wonderful pleasure of meeting the Great Man once - on Tony & Joy's Wedding Day. What fond memories we cherish of the magnificent speech he delivered; referring to the USA athlete, Maurice Greene with whom he shared the same name. Metaphorically drawing the analogy of Tony as "the Kiwi coming from NZ" who surreptitiously took the hand of the fair Aussie lady while the local suitors stood flat footed. Tony not only won the race like Maurice Greene the runner, but also scored an unbelievable Rugby try. Maurice has left behind a rich legacy; he will be fondly remembered by us.
