I am very sad to hear of Mollie's passing. Mollie was my dad's (Norman Hastings) cousin and Mark was my husband's dad's (Brendan O'Connor) cousin - so we enjoyed a double familial connection. I loved Mollie's wit and sense of humour. In latter years we have exchanged letters and family news and Mollie's love for and pride in all her family was always so evident. I won't be able to make Mollie's funeral but I will be thinking of you all and raising a toast to a wonderful woman and a full life well-lived. Lots of love, Antoinette

I have fond memories of Molly when I was Deputy Principal at Marian School. She always said yes when I rang her for relieving. A lovely lady. Fond love to Jeannette.

We´re thinking of you all at this sad time and keeping you in our prayers. Mollie leaves a rich legacy behind having touched many people´s lives through her teaching at St Mary´s (now Marian School) and as a colleague. Hold on to the precious memories you have of your mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and be comforted by the knowledge that she is now at rest in the arms of the Lord.

47 years ago Mrs O´Connor was mine and my twin brothers Std 3 teacher at St Mary´s in Hamilton. Boy did she have a busy class that year. She was a talented teacher who kept us on our toes and pushed us to be our best. Our paths crossed many times over the years through church connections and I was always impressed with her memory, her connectedness to our community, and her (and her husbands) dedication to weekly church cleaning which she did well into her 80s! Rest in peace faithful servant and wonderful teacher.

Hi Everyone
Sad to hear of Mollie's passing. May she rest in peace. She had a wonderful life surrounded and loved by her family. and I know this is a difficult and very sad time but it is also a wonderful opportunity to celebrate a life well lived. All sorts of memories surface some funny, some sad, but all very important as part of the grieving process. I'm not sure that I can make Mollie's funeral but I think Phil is coming through at this stage. Either way will be thinking of you all and do hope the day goes very well. Cheers John Coleman
