Marie UREN Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family have to announce that Marie passed away quite unexpectedly in her sleep at home in Hamilton on April 3rd 2024 in her 87th year. She was the dearly loved husband of Arthur (deceased), Mother and Mother-in-law of Craig & Samantha Uren (Perth) and Angela Wild. Grandmother of Sydney Carlton, Connor and Nico Wild. Foster Grandmother to Toby. Eldest daughter of Phyllis & Bob Gatenby, sister and sister-in-law to Murray & Valerie, Colin & Bev, Rex & Beryl Gatenby. A service for Marie will be held at the Morrinsville RSA Studholme St, 11.00am, Friday April 12th. An avid and enthusiastic grower of Dahlias for many years she will be sorely missed by the Hamilton Dahlia Society and the Ohaupo Ngahinapouri Lions Club. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the Lions Club. All communications to the Uren/ Gatenby family C/- PO Box 5523, Frankton, Hamilton, 3242.

Our sincere condolences to the Gatenby, Uren families.
I am hoping to attend the Funeral on Friday. The message I am sure Marie would like to send to her relatives and Friends, it goes like this....
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little-but not too long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that we once shared
Miss me-but let me go.
For this is a journey that we all must take
And each must go alone.
Its all a part of the master's plan,
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.
