Lois will be missed and will always be remembered, by the Auckland National Guiding Friends Group, of which she was a member.
When I was told of Lois's death. I sent a message to the other National Guiding Friends Co-ordinators.
Special memories have come in from friends
who knew Lois.
•Just had a phone call from an ex-Cavell Guide to say Lois Edgar has died.
•So many of us will remember her from her days as a National Trainer, and in her other guiding roles. I remember being at Auckland Trainings she was running, and at Arahina in October 1988 with another leader from Manukau. We were at a Prospective Trainers' gathering that Lois was running.
•Lois was one of my mother's best friends in guiding ,so her daughter Linda and I occasionally made up a foursome at various events. I particularly recall helping out with a Patrol Leaders' training at Marton. I felt very important and it certainly whetted my appetite for training but I think my sum contribution was an 'easy' craft suitable for patrol time. I have vague memories of some sort of octopus! WHAT we did and WHAT we remember?! Amazing really.
•Sad news indeed.I remember her well. Thanks for letting me know.
•When Lois was Assistant Provincial Commissioner in Auckland she was instrumental in getting me back into Guiding, first on the Service Reserve selling biscuits in about 1978 or 1979, and then in uniform as a leader.Lois knew me from when I worked for her husband Graham, and certainly encouraged others in Guiding to make use of my professional skills. That created many opportunities for me.
•Thank you for letting me know.I remember her well.
•Lois did so much for GirlGuiding New Zealand and she will be missed!!!

National Guiding Friends send our sincere condolences to Linda Tarbutt and the rest of Lois's family

Our sympathy to Linda and the wider Edgar family.
Lois made a great contribution to GirlGuiding and was a very dear friend - we spent much time together at Arahina trainings and in Auckland - our friendship continued for many years with Graham by her side.
Go well and safely Lois. Love Ann Jeffries
