Sorry to hear of John´s passing. It bought back a flood of memories.

John was a senior manager based in Hamilton when I started in the Ministry of Agriculture in Wellington in the dim dark ages. He was one of my mentors and helped the advancement of my career within the Ministry.

I enjoyed my many trips to Hamilton, during one of which I met my partner Diana, and we spent a lot of time socialising and travelling together on various projects so everyone who knows John would know that involved a frankly outrageous amount of chardonnay and lots of stories.

We unfortunately lost touch after his retirement. It was only by chance an ex-colleague saw this notice after the Service. I´m sorry I didn´t have the opportunity to connect with him.

Condolences to his loved ones.
