Adelle and Brendan, hearing about your dad, John, has left me deeply saddened. He was a remarkable man. Not only did he help me find my first car, but he also looked after all my vehicles over a number of years when I was in the Waikato. Every time we met, it was like picking up right where we left off, thanks to his endless stories and easygoing nature. I´ll always remember John for his generosity and welcoming nature. My thoughts are with you both during this tough time.

So sad and shocked to get Adelle and Brendan's phone call telling us that our dear friend John had passed away suddenly bringing the curtain down on a 57 year friendship. We have nothing but admiration for the man and the way he selflessly devoted his life to helping others. He will be sorely missed in so many ways.
Our thoughts are with Brendan, Adelle and Kelly, Lyn and the wider Macpherson family at this sad time. For ourselves we will forever cherish the memories of all the great times that we had with John over all those years.

Gude night, and joy be wi ye all, your harmless mirth has cheered my heart, may life's fell blasts oot oer ye blaw, in sorrow may ye never part. My spirit lives, but strength is gone, the mountain fires now blaze in vain. Remember, sons, the deeds I've done, and in your deeds I'll live again.
