My late father, George Rennie, managed a team that John was in and I grew up hearing as a person as well as a player great stories about him. By chance I met John at a Lincoln alumni event in Hamilton some years back. To my surprise and my fathers absolute delight, John subsequently visited him in Christchurch - that was such a nice thing for John to do

Dear Dorothy and family.
Passing on our Club's condolences to you and your family at this time of grief.
The Varsity Club is a brotherhood for life and John was a fine player for Varsity A in the early 1950s and his support of the Club and rugby milestones at Massey University is well noted.

Jono and families
Our thoughts are with you all at this sad time. We know the day will come but death always leaves us with grief. You can take comfort knowing your dad is no longer suffering and let the memories of his life comfort you in his death.
Love to you all
Gret and Molly xx
