John BADDELEY Obituary

BADDELEY,
John Clinton (Clint): M.N.Z.M.
Clint died peacefully on 10 March 2022. Dearly loved by wife Jackie, loved father and father-in-law of Jamie and Nikki and Sarah and Graham, and proud poppy of Jacob, Leon, Louis and Tilda. Loved brother of Barbara. Clint was a stalwart of the Raglan community, advocate for social justice, and lover of good music. His significant contribution to the Waikato community was recognised as a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit, Honorary Fellow of WINTEC, and Life Membership to both EPMU (E Tu) and Raglan Community Radio. We want to express gratitude to Dr Mike and Dr Renee and their team at Raglan Medical, Maree and her team at Raglan Rest Home and Hospital, and friends and neighbours for their care and support. Due to COVID risks, a private ceremony will be held and we will plan a memorial service when circumstances allow. Correspondence can be directed to the family on [email protected] or Seddon Park Funeral Home, PO Box 5523, Frankton 3242.

Clint was a principled and strategic thinker who loved his community and adored his family. He worked hard for social justice and he made a positive difference to the lives of many people in both his local government, governance and trade union roles. RIP Clint, knowing that you made the world a better place.

In the union movement, there were and are many fine people.
Clint stood out. He was a top bloke. You have my deepest sympathy.
