Formerly of Hawera, Taranaki. Passed away peacefully at Waikato Hospital on Saturday 13th October 2018. Aged 82 years. Loved husband of Jenny. Loved father and father-in-law of Sue and Jim van der Poel, Peter, Chris, Brett, Janine and Ted Thorstensen, Francine, Stefan and Madeleine. Loved grandfather of Steven and Aaron, Jodie, Jesse and Dyani, CJ, Jenna and Zac, Jackson and Darcy, Jacob, Harry and Max, Jasmine and Maddison, Sebastian and Oliver. Loved great-grandfather of Kaedin, Marni, Jimmy, Maggie, Kees, Braxton, Addyson and Marlowe, Gracie, Sadie and Arie, Leo and Tyler, Billie and Banks. Special thanks to the staff of The Acute Medical Unit Waikato Hospital. A Service for John will be held at Alexandra House Chapel, 570 Alexandra St, Te Awamutu, on Wednesday 17th October 2018 at 11.00am, followed by a private cremation. In lieu of flowers donations to the Acute Medical Unit Waikato Hospital would be appreciated and may be left at the service. All communications to the Anderson family, PO Box 137, Te Awamutu.

Dear Jenny,
So sorry for the loss of your dearly loved husband, a man who was such an inspiration to so many. Even knowing that John is at peace with his (and your!) dearly loved Lord must still bring so much pain to you.
