Joan GIBBONS Obituary
On 31st January, 2024, aged 91 years, Joan passed away peacefully, 4 months after her beloved husband John in their 62nd year of marriage, surrounded by family. A devoted and loving mother and mother-in-law to Phil and Nicky, Kevin (deceased) and Amina, Vee and Steve and Helen and John. Treasured Gran to John, Jessica, Daniel, Jenny, Anna, Megan, Charlotte and Lucy.
In God's care now and reunited with John but always in our hearts.
Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St Patrick's Catholic Church, 625 Alexandra Street, Te Awamutu on Monday, 5th February at 11am, followed by a burial at Te Awamutu Cemetery.

Joan was my cousin but she went to New Zealand before I was born. My mum, her first cousin, kept in touch by letter and telephone calls at Christmas. My mum and dad spent some time with Joan and John when they visited while on holiday.
I only met Joan once when her and John visited the UK. I spent the day with them and my parents. I remember eating ice creams at the coast.
RIP Joan.
