Jessica MACFARLANE Obituary

Passed peacefully at home on 20th December 2024, aged 80 years. Jessica was a passionate advocate for animal welfare, supporting many animals and charities, both locally and internationally. Many will fondly remember her and her cherished St Bernard, "Folly" as they worked tirelessly together to raise funds for the Waikato SPCA in the 1990s. Her impact on the lives of the animals she supported will be felt for years to come, and she will be profoundly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Sonia, Joanna, Dr. A Lattarulo, and Hospice Waikato for their compassion and support to Jessica in her final weeks. As per Jessica's wishes, a private cremation has been held.

I hadn't heard from her in months and I was afraid she was gone. We worked together in San Diego, and I was lucky enough to stay with her and her Mom for a few days when I visited Hamilton. She was a very special person; kind, compassionate, and very funny. I met Folly too! I'll miss her very much; thank you for doing this. And my condolences to everyone who knew her. This is such a loss.
