Dr Rory

It was an honour to be there for mum at the end on her final day. I so much enjoyed being her doctor and will miss seeing her and our little chats. Jan had a great sense of humour, and was a lovely lady.

Jan was my dearest friend. We met at Chatswood Probus and became dear friends.
Jan and I exchanged text messages every morning. She would tell me everything planned for the day - the carer coming to shower, as a companion, or to clean. We complained about the weather - too much rain! Too humid! Jan loved the sun and was able to have her coffee on the balcony. That was a good day.
Her daughter Chris was her planner - a very organised girl. She loved it when Mike, Chris, Sharyn, Dave, Richard and her grandchildren came to visit.
I will miss Jan very much.

Nancy Bradley and Mary Bartels

Our deepest sympathy to all the family from Graeme (Bradley, my husband ) & myself.
Also Deep sympathy from Mary Bartels, who lives in this village. Mary was a long time neighbour in Cunningham Rd, Hamilton. Jan & I worked together for a long time in the Bank and had lots of laughs or chats about our families over cups of tea. I visited Huntington and Orchard Ave homes that Jan had. I helped with a hospital visit for the treatment Jan had to go through. I also helped with the big move of selling up to live in Sydney. We kept in touch across the ditch for birthdays and Christmas. This last Christmas was a brief Email for season´s greetings.
I value the memories of our friendship over the years and will miss Jan in my life.
Regards, Nancy Bradley and Mary Bartels

I worked with Jan at Trustbank and then Westpac and having family in Sydney meant Ian and I could still catch up with Jan in NZ and Sydney.
We will miss her messages about family and life in Sydney.

I worked beside Jan in the Support centre at Westpac in Hamilton. At the time I was working with her she was deciding how to make the move to Oz to be with her family. I´m so pleased she went and had those precious years with you. It was lovely to meet up with her on her return trips to NZ. I will always remember Jan as a true friend and have found a verse that describes how I will remember her.
FROM LITTLE SEEDS OF KINDNESS, THE FINEST FRIENDSHIPS GROW.

Jan and I met in the Post Office days back in the late 80s I think. We then worked at Trustbank/Westpac. I really enjoyed our cruise together a few years ago from Sydney. My love and condolences to you Chris, and the rest of the family. Xx Kath Greenwood

Our thoughts are with you all, Michael, Alex & girls, Chris, Sharon, David & Richard. Jan was a lovely friend to all her Hamilton Westpac mates going back to 1997 for me, & for some even earlier from Trustbank & Postbank. Through her health struggles she was always cheerful & made an effort to keep in touch with us even after her trips home became Impossible. Will miss the chats & emails, Jan Rest easy, you´ll be fondly remembered.

Jan was such a lovely gentle person and we had the privilege of growing up with her (they were our closest Hughes rellies, when we lived in Hawera) and caught up with her on many occasions in later life, especially when she was staying at Urenui beach with the family.
May she rest in peace.

I was so sad to hear of your Mum's passing. I had known Janice since she was about 5 years old with lovely blonde hair. I know her life has not been easy but she was so proud of you all. You will all know in your heart how caring you have been to her for which she was very grateful.
Lots of Love Auntie Edna (Edna Follett)

I was a younger cousin but I remember Janice when she lived with Nana in Palmerston North and her lovely wedding when she married Ken. Also the great catch ups when she would come back to Auckland for our Christmas get togethers, she was always very pleased to see family, and us to see her.

Sixty four years ago I was a little girl from the country who new no-one and luck happened sat next to Janice in Stratford High school assembly. We made conversation and she asked me if I would like to be her friend and there grew a lifelong friendship. I lived in the country and occasionally Jan would catch the bus home and stay the weekend. I was the eldest of 9 and she loved being with all the kids. She always had to sleep with one in a 2ft6 bed. In reverse I loved going to her place with the peace and quiet. When there was a school dance I stayed at her place. We would go down the street and put on lipstick (probably Ailsa´s.). This was very daring in those days. Jan was a good friend who I will miss dearly.
RIP Barbara
