Dear Jenny & family, I was so sad to hear of Gerald's death. A great Totara has fallen. He gifted so much to the Diocese of Waikato & Taranaki and I so appreciated his support when I was Diocesan Manager. Sending love and prayers to you all. May he rest in peace and rise in glory. Uncle Gerald (Unc), you were a truly special human being. Not only were you an amazing husband, father, brother and uncle but you were also one of Hamilton city's leading lawyers and community contributors.
I am so grateful for all the years you and Jenny opened your home for me especially during my Dio years. You gave me so much time which I will never forget. You taught me to drive and snow ski and the skiing is a gift I have passed on to my family. So many lovely memories to reflect on from 570. Rest in Love. Jan

I was very sad to read of Geralds passing. As our family lawyer confidante and friend we have been very blessed to have known him (and Jenny) over many years. From first meeting as neighbours in Pukekohe to reconnecting in the Waikato through today he has always been someone I have respected for his honesty, his intelligence, his solid advice, and his commitment to his family and his faith. Rest peacefully Gerald. Kevin O´Connor and family

We were pleased to be dinner guests of Gerald and Jenny prior to undertaking the Camino to Santiago de Compostela. They shared tips and gave me a stone to place on their behalf at the foot of the Cruz de Ferro. Ultreia et suseia, Gerald!!!

I first met Gerald in Court when he administered a fine lesson in advocacy. More recently we served together on the Trust Board of Anglican Action (where his experience and wisdom were greatly admired ) and attended tai chi classes together. A real gentleman, he will be missed.

Reading of Gerald's passing just now has brought back such lovely memories of travelling with him and Jenny and other friends to Sarawak, East Malaysia as we made new friends travelling through the jungles of Borneo, sleeping in long houses and particularly of Gerald battling with an unruly orangutan who had grasped the Rosemary's skirt through the bars of his temporary prison. You will so missed Gerald.

To dearest Gerald
The world is slightly darker without your light, your fun, your wit, your intellect, your unconditional love of family - your own beautiful one and your extended family - your love of cricket, music, travel, your faith and your humanity. Thank you for being such a loving brother and a wonderful uncle to Jan, Prue and David. Gone but never forgotten. RIP
