McKERNAN, Francis Mervyn (Merv). - Passed away peacefully on Sunday, 1 June 2014, aged 86 years, at Eventhorpe Home in Hamilton. Dearly loved husband for 60 years of Noeline. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Anita and the late Peter, Kevin and Maree, Pauline and Colin Wrigley, Christine and Peter Moore, Gerard and Mary. Much loved grandad of Robert, Sarah and Hayden, Jay and Alex, Ryan, Craig, Matthew, Jonathan, Amy, Anthony, Craig and Virginia Wrigley, and great-grandad of Aleric and Mya.
- Requiem to celebrate Merv's life will be held at the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Grey Street, Hamilton East, on Thursday, 5th June, 1.30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations please to Alzheimers Waikato. Heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful staff at Eventhorpe for their love and care of Merv for the last 3.5 years. Noeline and Family,
Over the years from '78 to '91 Merv was such a source of friendship and good will during Ron's life in Hamilton.
What a great toiler on church properties and a friend to so many catholic clergy. We remember Merv at Mass now and in the months to come.
