Eric LINDSEY Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Eric Lindsey, who passed away peacefully at home on 29 May 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Eric was a devoted husband and best friend to Lorraine for 54 years, a cherished father to Bevan and Kyra, much loved father-in-law to Carla and a proud Poppa to Jay, Chantelle, Bailey and grand fur babies; Marley and Gracie. He was a man of great faith, kindness, and generosity, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication to his family, church and community. While we mourn his loss, we rejoice in the belief that he is now safe in the arms of Jesus. The Funeral will be held at The Salvation Army Hamilton City Corps, 99 London Street, Hamilton, at 1.00pm Thursday 5th June 2025.

I first met Eric not long after I moved to the village 3 years ago. I was returning from a walk and Eric was cleaning his car. As its the village way I stopped to talk. It was not long before I realised that we had many shared interests in common. And so, on the many occasions when we met, our conversations were robust, interesting, learning experiences. I learned that over the next while both Eric and Lorraine had their share of (as Paul Simon sang) "incidents and accidents" and recently, news that a long term medical condition had returned and was seriously affecting Eric. I was saddened and upset by this news. With what I learned from our short friendship, I was comforted by knowing that Eric was facing this
with faith, humility and understanding.
To you, Eric's Family, I offer my sincere condolences.
Rest in peace my friend.
