On 10 September 2021 at Mary Potter Hospice, Wellington, aged 95. Dearly loved wife of the late Nevill; mother of Barbara, David, and the late Helen; Nona to Eden, Ben, Savanna, Abby, Lamar and Cory. We remember her for her strength for family and fellowship with humanity. Following her cremation, Elaine's farewell will be at the Kapiti Coast Funeral Home Chapel, 9-11 Hinemoa Street, Paraparaumu, at 10.30am, on Friday 17 September. Elaine was my "other mum" during many fun teenage adventures with Helen and Barbara on their farm in Tamahere and also during summer sailing holidays. I loved her humour and her wise words, and always appreciated her on-going interest in us "young people". Her sharp mind and youthful attitude will always be inspirational.
I know she will be greatly missed by her family, and send my deepest sympathies to you all. Lots of love from Rebecca and the Moir family up in Auckland.

Elaine and Nevill have been close family friends for over fifty years. Our two families shared numerous wonderful experiences at each others homes and sailing out of Auckland.We will miss them both greatly. They had a wonderful outlook on life. Our two families were very close. Both Elaine and Nevill were very special people. Our thoughts and prayers are with David, Barbara and their families at this sad time. We are so sorry that we can not be present at the funeral service for Elaine tomorrow. We send the family our condolences and our love.
