Derek KERWOOD Obituary

I had Derek as my woodwork teacher at Melville High School in 1976. I remember because his daughter Sara was in my form 3 class with Mr Petersen.
I really enjoyed having Derek as a teacher and feel sad to hear of his passing.
His woodwork skills are amazing and I think of the Melville High entrance sign he made. My condolences to Sara and to all of Dereks family, grand and great grandchildren who will keep his memory alive.

Derek was my woodwork teacher at melville high in the 1970's. He had a great sense of humour. He was the best wood worker on the planet, his passion for creating from wood totally unmatched. My condolences to you all. ( Lynn & sara were each at different times in my class at melville.)

I remember a woodwork teacher with a sense of humor. Good at teaching especially in a way that I can still remember some of his comments more than 50 years later. I knew him at Melville Hogh School.
