Peacefully at Foxbridge Care Home, Hamilton, on 1 August 2021, aged 97 years. Dearly loved husband of Leila. Loving and caring Dad of Des & Vanessa, Gerald & Sharon and Chris. Dearly loved Granddad and Opa of Natalie, Freya, Anton, Lucy and Lily.

In accordance with Gerry's wishes a private cremation has been held, with a memorial service to be held at a later date. All communications to the van der Wal family C/- PO Box 5523, Frankton, Hamilton 3242.
