Delphi STABBACK Obituary

STABBACK, Delphi Mae

March 10, 1921 - February 8, 2013
With sadness we announce the passing of Delphi Mae Stabback on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the age of 91 years. Delphi is the beloved wife of Jack Stabback (predeceased 2010), and mother of Thomas Kent Stabback, Lynda Jeanne Furlong, Cheryl Elaine James (predeceased 2007), Garry Robin Stabback, Susan Gail Paul, and Carol Lynne Ranta. Delphi was born on a farm near Congress, SK. She attended rural schools and graduated from Assiniboia High School in 1939. After high school, Delphi attended Miller Memorial Bible School in Pambrun, SK. The following year she attended nurses training at Regina General Hospital, graduating in 1946. She moved to Lethbridge, AB where she worked at St. Michael's Hospital. She met and married Thomas Greenway in 1949. They had three children, Cheryl, Lynda and Kent. Thomas passed away in 1957. Delphi met and married Jack Stabback, a widower with three children in 1959. Delphi raised the expanded family in Calgary and Ottawa. After the children left home, Delphi and Jack moved back to
Calgary in 1980 and subsequently to
Victoria, BC in 1988. She and Jack did much travelling and finally settled in Calgary to be closer to their children. A celebration of Delphi's life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
