We honour the life and contribution of David Halse to the work and witness of Titahi Bay Community Church, to the leadership and ministry of Mobile Mission Maintenance NZ, and also to his service to Erima Christian Centre in Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea with the building of meeting-rooms and toilet block. And a great friend and colleague to us.

Hello Jenny, it is so long since we shared fellowship in your Titahi Bay house group and we surviving members are getting smaller in number all the time but the memories of those evening meetings have not faded with time. David would be serious when needed and then his smile would break through and it was a delight to see.
Heaven is enriched with his presence, while we on earth are left to mourn.

We send you our love, and thoughts and prayers, at this time. We have many fond memories, of David and Jenny and Bronwyn, Stephanie, and Carolyn. When we first purchased our home, in Gloaming Hill, Titahi Bay, David came and inspected it for us, and gave encouraging advice and support. He was a caring, humble (very humble) and somewhat quiet man. Jenny some would say, would make up for the quietness. He cared and thought a lot about various situations, and was very, very loyal. He was also a caring husband who provided for his family throughout his building career, and a very loving Father to his 3 girls, who he was very, proud of. Family dinners were shared and laughs abounded, children's parties enjoyed at each other's houses. The bond between church, and his God was to be admired. So to Jenny and his beautiful 3 girls, and their husbands and his grandchildren, thank you for sharing your husband, and your Dad. He has reached many lives, and his legacy will live on in the each of you.
May you know, he is only sleeping, in God's arms and may you find peace, comfort and love in the friends, and family that care and love you.

I have so many fond memories of David - a quiet man but when he spoke people stopped and listened. He always had time for people. An amazing strong man in the physical sense as well as in his faith. But is now in his father's strong arms. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all as you navigate this loss.
