As a rower at Te Awamutu Rowing Club back in the late 70's I will always remember Colin firstly as a coach of the senior/premier men. As a Manager he was involved in the NZ team and the World Rowing Championship at Lake Karapiro in 1978. I was also thankful that I was able to talk with Colin at the Te Awamutu Rowing Club reunion held not too long ago. A man with whom I held with enormous regard and respect. A gentleman and a a person who loved the sport of rowing.

Correct me if I am wrong. But the name of Colin Green featured in a West End Rowing Club eight oar crew that won a New Zealand Championships in 1951. If that is so then the words of the WER Club song come to the fore - "To go on, but not forgotten by the rest".
