Lorna and family I am so sorry to hear of Clive's passing. I have great memories when my parents, Emrys & Thelma would be entertaining you at their house or they would take us out to your farm to see the horses and have a lovely afternoon tea.
Take care Lorna, love Robyn Taylor

Clive Cleland or Sir as we knew him, was a wonderful leader and mentor to me and many others while enjoying being members of the NZ Cadet Forces and No. 7 Air Training Corp Squadron. A great man, loved by his family and for his service to the local Waikato community. Will be greatly missed. Thank you Sir for all the great memories.., "at ease". Much aroha to the whanau Mark Linehan

I had the privilege of serving as one of the officers in No. 7 City of Hamilton Squadron under the outstanding leadership of our Unit Commander, Squadron Leader Clive Cleland.
Clive truly lived the Air Training Corps motto, "We Train to Serve." He inspired generations of cadets to serve their community and nation with pride and purpose. A natural leader, he delegated authority with ease, encouraged personal growth, and was passionate about developing responsibility and leadership in young people. This was always underpinned by his sharp intellect, calm manner, and genuine kindness.
Following his retirement from the Squadron, Clive´s commitment to service did not wane. He continued to give generously as the RNZAF´s Community Relationship Officer and as a long-standing and respected member of ATCANZ.
Yet, for all his dedication to the Air Training Corps, Clive´s greatest love was always his beloved Lorna and their four beautiful children, who were the centre of his life and his deepest pride.
The words of Sir Winston Churchill perfectly capture the essence of Clive´s life:
"We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give."
Clive Cleland had a remarkable life, and his legacy of service, leadership, and generosity will endure in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

SQNLDR CLELAND
Was the unit commander of No 7 Squadron Hamilton for many years He was the unit commander when I joined as a cadet in 1977 when he retired from 7 squadron. I took over as the unit commander and very hard shoes to full.
Clive was well respected throught out the New Zealand cadet forces. The dedication that Clive gave to No 7 Sqd and NZ Cadet Forces was no small feat . Some recanation for him came in the new years Honners with a Queen Service Medal for his service to New Zealand Cadet Forces. Rest in peace Squadron Leader C B Cleland.
