Dr. Clark Lamont Osteen
Dr. Clark Lamont Osteen passed away Monday, July 21, 2025, at Thrive Skidaway in Savannah, Georgia. Dr. Osteen was 93 years old.
Dr. Osteen was born to the late Mary Ella Silts and Dr. Oswald Osteen in Commerce, Georgia. Lamont attended University of Maryland and received his Doctor of Medicine and Anesthesiology specialist's degree from the University of Maryland in Baltimore, Maryland. Lamont began his career as a USAF Flight Surgeon and Base Psychiatrist where he received a commendation medal. He went on to practice Anesthesiology at Anesthesia Associates in Savannah, Georgia, with his uncle Dr. Lloyd Osteen.
Dr. Osteen served as Treasurer in 1968 for the Georgia Medical Society. In the 70s, Dr. Osteen served as Chief Anesthesiologist at Memorial Hospital in Savannah. He later went on to serve as Treasurer of the Medical/Dental Staff at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah for ten years.
Predeceased is his wife, Ann Wenner Osteen of Savannah, Georgia.
Surviving Dr. Osteen are his son Chris Osteen (Laurie) of Savannah, Ga, and his daughter Deborah Thoben (Matthew) of Louisville, Ky. He is also survived by his sister Sandra Robison of Leesburg, Florida, and Nancy Norwood of Tavares, Florida.
Also surviving Dr. Osteen are three grandchildren: Katherine Osteen Hassan (Fahad), Sally Osteen Helton (Matthew), Eric Thoben and six great grandchildren Abraham and Norah Hassan, Holly and Henry Helton, and Jack and Eli Thoben.
There will be a private, family burial at Hillcrest Abbey On Saturday, August 23.
The family suggests any remembrances be made in his memory to Hospice of Savannah.
