Jim and family, I was so saddened to hear of Catherine's passing. I have memories of her from Sacred Heart winning prizes for her hard work, singing at the Cathedral, and hearing of her advancing in her teaching career. She gave so much of herself to everyone and will be so sadly missed.

Catherine was such a warm hearted, caring and compassionate person - full of love and worked with an attitude and aptitude that she was there to make a gentle difference in whatever she was guided to do. We worked together to establish Kai Kete at Holy Family Parish in Nelson/Stoke where we took donated food from Parishioners' gardens to an outreach programme in town - on a weekly basis. Like so many other things, she poured her heart into this. She is such an inspiration. She has well deserved her place to rest in the arms of the Lord.

Catherine was wonderful woman who inspired many in all she was part of during her life. Her very special qualities of kindness, thoughtfulness and compassion were always evident. Catherine was the first Speech and Drama teacher to our daughters and they loved their time with her. I was deeply saddened to learn of her death. Much arohanui to Jim, Anna, Stephen and your families.

A special lady with a heart of gold, the patience of a saint and the ability to see the potential in every person, young and not so young, that she worked with.
Gone too early.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Catherine´s passing. She was amongst the first I met as a singer back in the mid to late `70´s whilst we were competing in singing competitions. When I returned from overseas study I was privileged to share the performance stage with her in opera, operetta, musical theatre and oratorios. As a performer Catherine was professional, serene, possessed a clear beautiful singing voice with a wonderful stage presence, a giving performer who also had a wonderful sense of humour and fun.
To Jim and family, please accept my heartfelt condolences at what is an exceptionally sad time for you all. Catherine passed too young, but be assured she will be remembered as one who influenced and inspired many people, not only in her vocation as an exemplary teacher and educationalist, but also by those who were fortunate to know her as a performer. She will be sadly missed. Kia kaha.
With deepest sympathy
