Born April 24, 1924, in Kiski Township, he lived in the Salina section of Bell before moving to Saltillo in 1957. He was a graduate of Vandergrift High School. A veteran, he served in World War II with the Army in the Pacific Theatre. Mr. Shepherd was a heavy equipment operator with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers before retiring. He was a member of the Avonmore Moose, and Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, Tupelo, Miss. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include two sons, Stan (Pam) Shepherd of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Roger (Pili) Shepherd of Seville, Spain; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Wilbert C. Shepherd of Salina, Ray Shepherd of Spokane, Wash., and W. Paul Shepherd of Greensburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd A. and Myra Rearick Shepherd Sr.; two brothers, Harold Shepherd and a twin brother in infancy; and a sister in infancy. Private graveside services were conducted in Lee Memorial Park, Tupelo. Military honors were accorded by the Veterans Administration Honor Guard.
