Barry WYLDE Obituary

On Thursday, 14 December 2023 at Waikato Hospital aged 91 years. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Beryl. Much loved father of Craig, Derek and Michelle. Father-in-law of Michelle. Grandfather of Mika, Aidan and Liam. Also missed by Millie the dog. 'Forever in our hearts' A celebration of Barry's life will be held at Woolertons' Funeral Home Chapel, 8 Railside Place, Hamilton on Wednesday, 20 December at 11.00am. In lieu of flowers, donations to Waikato SPCA would be appreciated and may be left at the venue. All correspondence to the Wylde family, C/-PO Box 276, Hamilton 3240.

I am researching the Wylde surname in New Zealand and contacted Barry years ago. He said his family were from a military family. Recently I found out so were my family. My great grandfather James Wylde got very excited when he read in the NZ newspapers that a General William Wylde had his face blackened when a man a john Francis tried to shoot Queen Victoria . Is this man in Barry's family? I hope so. I would love to hear from someone who knows about his family. Hoping to hear from you, thanks, Mrs Ana Squire.

Barry! A man of many talents with a wonderful sense of humor and wit. I feel honoured to have played piano trios with you and Beryl and I will miss that special cellist in our trios and quintet. Rest in peace good friend and music companion. Thank you for enriching my life with your talents.
