HUME, H. Douglas
Peacefully, on Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at his Etobicoke residence, in his 82nd year. Born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on December 24, 1921. Son of Charles Gordon Hume and Elizabeth Hain. Douglas was a respected businessman, a successful precious metal explorer and past president of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada. He served as an artillery officer in the Italian campaign of WWII. Beloved husband of Idelhia, father of Charlotte (Ed Gullage), Cathy (Otavio Cavalconti) and Barbara (John Wright). Survived by brother Cliff and sister Aileen. Predeceased by brothers James, Gordon and Russell. A reception celebrating his life will be held in Toronto at a date to be announced.
