ARNO MINNEMA
On Friday afternoon the 12th of May a group of about 350 ladies and gentlemen entered the Te Rapa racecourse venue to say farewell to our son young Arno Minnema. Arno was on a cruise from Sydney through Wellington, Tahiti, Honolulu to Vancouver with partner Paul and their best friends Peter and Karen to celebrate Peter's 60th birthday on May 1.
On April 26 at dinner the night before docking at Papeete Arno felt very unwell. He and Paul went to their stateroom but after a while Paul went back to dinner. On returning he found that Arno had passed away. His heart had stopped. A very sudden end to a hectic existence as a promising young actor of 55 years. He had a wonderful to way get people reach their potential.
A heartfelt Thank You for your kind attention and sympathy shown with your cards, flowers and little treats. We as his family are forever grateful for the wonderful love, kindness, warmth expressed by your presence during that afternoon.

My "brother-from-another-mother" and very special friend who gave so much to my family and to our wider family will always be a part of each of us. We are richer for having been able to share a world with you in it, and I will always cherish the memories of shows we were in together, usually getting up to some form of hilarious mischief. You are still here with us, brother, albeit now in a different form with the angels. Our deepest sympathies and continuing friendship goes to brother Paul, we're with you whenever you need us.

I believe there are people that are disguised as angels that walk the Earth and their soul purpose in life is to connect, give and pass on joy to others such as our Arno. With the heart of a velvet touch and a passion for life through the hearts of all people. Though nothing can bring back the hour of slender in the grass, the glory in the flower, we will grieve but also find strength in what reminds behind.
