Yesterday

Always a Gentleman, competent, passionate, generous with his time and very caring and gracious.
Never combative and had a huge moral integrity and I owe you so much Alan, as does society at large, the majority without knowing it, such was your style.
Thanks Alan, you never stopped giving.

Janet and Family
Having spent the last few years with Alan on the QE11 board I gained the greatest respect for him both as a friend and a work colleague.
Alans intelligent approach to everything he did and his special social skills will be sadly missed. Its one thing to be successful in life which he undoubtedly was. More importantly he was respected and liked for the person he was and the genuine contribution he made with everything he did.
May he rest in peace.

I met Alan in March 2022, and from that day on I deeply admired his kindness and his ability to listen and express his ideas with such politeness. It was always a pleasure to see Alan and chat about movies, politics, or anything else.

In my mind, I will always remember his warm way of speaking - "good on you, good on you." It was truly a pleasure to have met Alan in this life.

To Janet and family, my family sends all our love.

Probably first met Alan almost 70 years ago. Our families have always been close particularly our two Fathers now both deceased. Am in awe of Alan service to the local community over many years. Glad to have managed a catchup last June when in Te Awamutu. Sincere condolences to all the family. He will be much missed.

"I had known Alan for several decades having dealt with him as Mayor. He always was a very accommodating and professional.
In 2020, Alan approached me via Marcus Gower who were both concerned about the afterlife of me running the Regent.
At that stage, I told him that while I was physically able to, I would continue managing the Theatre, but he was looking further ahead.
When I had an accident, the time had come for me to re-evaluate the situation and I felt that it should be looked after by locals for locals.
The Allan Webb Theatre Trust was formed and Alan became the Chairman from 01.04.2022."

I remember Janet and Ceds were going out and Ceds used to bring his Whitehouse mates ( Lincoln students) to our flat ( Nursing students) for a roast - they would provide the meat and we would do the cooking, Alan has been a life long friend and partner to Janet, sending my love a thoughts to her and the family. Taken too soon xxxx
