Beloved wife of the late Murdo John MacKay and survived by her daughters; Pamela MacKay (David Butler), Marian MacKay (Joe Fazari) and Catherine MacKay. Joyce Davis was born in 1925 in International Falls, Minnesota to Olive Mosher and Orville Davis and soon after, the family moved to Fort William (Thunder Bay), Ontario. In 1942 Joyce married Murdo MacKay and they continued to live and raise their family in Thunder Bay, where they owned a neighborhood convenience store. For many years Joyce enjoyed working at the Estee Lauder beauty counter in Eatons department store, a job from which she retired in 1985. She was an active member of the Thunder Bay 55 Club where she enjoyed spending time with her friends. Joyce was a talented watercolorist, partipating in many local exhibitions and an excellent seamstress, once winning a competition for a dress she made. After the death of her husband in 2000, Joyce moved to Toronto to be closer to her daughters and grandchildren. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Arthritis Society Canada or The Heart and Stroke Foundation. A special thanks to the staff of the 4th floor south of Lakeshore Lodge for their care, compassion and support.

I used to visit Joyce at Eatons and she would always give me free samples (and sometimes bottles of cologne), and we would laugh and joke. She was a lovely lady and will be missed. My condolences to the entire MacKay family.
