DAY, Norma:
10 August 1927 - 8 August 2017
Norma died peacefully at her home 85 Grosvenor Gardens, Alandale, Hamilton, on Tuesday evening. Youngest daughter of the late Muriel and Norman Holden; sister of Marjorie and the late Barbara; wife of the late Gerald Day; much loved mother of Timothy, Nicholas and Simon; mother-in-law of Rose, Amanda, Deborah; grandmother of Alan, Lauren, Kether, Adam and Cassia. During her long life she and Gerald adopted, cared for and loved far too many dogs and cats to name in this brief notice. Particular thanks are due to the staff and volunteers of Hospice Waikato for their wonderful care and support during Norma's last weeks. Grateful thanks also go to those doctors, nurses and ancillary staff (at Waikato Hospital and in private practice) who attended her in recent years. Thank you mum for all of those beautiful gardens you made for us. A celebration of Norma's life will take place at the Newstead Cemetery Lounge on Monday 14 August, at 1.30pm, followed by burial.
